Technical Overview

TSOP to DIP programming adapters provide a temporary electrical interface between TSOP surface-mount packages and standard 0.100″ pitch DIP programmer sockets.

The top interface consists of a TSOP socket matched to the specified body width and lead pitch. The bottom interface presents a DIP plug footprint compatible with common DIP programming systems.

Available configurations support multiple TSOP pin counts and standard JEDEC lead pitches. Routing may be 1:1 or device-specific depending on the adapter part number.

Electrical mapping, supported package dimensions, and mechanical tolerances are defined on each individual product page.

Mechanical Configuration

Top Interface: TSOP socket matched to the specified body width, lead pitch, and pin count. Common configurations include narrow and wide body TSOP packages with standard JEDEC lead spacing.

Socket types may include ZIF or low insertion force designs depending on part number. Contact systems are selected to maintain alignment and repeatable electrical engagement.

Bottom Interface: 0.100″ pitch DIP plug footprint designed to insert directly into standard DIP programmer sockets.

Construction utilizes rigid FR-4 substrate with plated-through vias and defined pad geometry to maintain mechanical stability and electrical continuity.

Routing Configurations

TSOP to DIP programming adapters are available with defined routing schemes based on device requirements.

  • 1:1 pin mapping between TSOP leads and DIP pins
  • Device-specific remapping to match programmer pin assignments
  • Defined skips, tied pins, or power/ground consolidation where required
