PA550-DP-PP
PA550-DP-PP – 40-Pin DIP Socket to 44-Pin PLCC Emulator Adapter (Intel 87C550)
Overview
PA550-DP-PP is a PLCC emulator adapter designed for the Intel 87C550 microcontroller. As a result, engineers can evaluate and emulate 87C550 devices packaged in 40-pin DIP format using systems that require a 44-pin PLCC emulator interface.
On the top side, the adapter provides a 40-pin DIP socket on 0.100″ (2.54 mm) pitch. Therefore, it supports DIP-packaged 87C550 devices commonly used in legacy embedded designs and firmware development environments.
On the bottom side, the adapter presents a 44-pin PLCC plug. Consequently, it inserts directly into PLCC emulator sockets without additional cabling or interposers.
This adapter uses device-specific wiring rather than full 1:1 pin mapping. Instead, it aligns 87C550 port, oscillator, programming, and power signals to the PLCC footprint. The Adapter Wiring table below lists the exact connections.
